Women doctors

In our studies the proportion of women respondents, at the preregistration stage, rose from 26.9 per cent of 1974 qualifiers to 39.4 per cent of 1983 qualifiers. In each of our four main cohorts-1974, 1977, 1980 and 1983-the response rates were fractionally higher for women than for men.
