ABSTRACT
To enable consumers to make payments, banks transmit money. In this section we discuss money transmission systems under six heads:
customer access to cash and cash distribution;
cheques and credit transfers;
pre-authorised payments (standing orders and direct debits);
credit cards;
other methods of making payments;
bank charges.
