ABSTRACT

Introduction Founded in Australia in 1920 as Queensland and Northern Territory Air Services, the Qantas Group is one of the world’s leading international carriers.1 The Qantas Group operates the Qantas, QantasLink and Jetstar airlines. In the year 2009-10, Qantas earned A$10.6 billion in revenue and its seat factor (capacity utilization) was 81.3%. Its fleet comprised 191 aircraft, including 76 long-range wide-body Airbus and Boeing planes.
