ABSTRACT

When talking to younger children, it quickly became clear that many of them preferred praise to be private rather than public, so part of the interviews with the eleven-year-olds sought to establish whether this remained the case as children grew towards the end of their Primary school lives. They were also asked whether some forms of praise were preferable to others. Younger children, when considering the Praise Posters, showed considerable preference for those forms of praise which they could take home and share with parents.
