Creating a culture of compliance

In Chapter 1, three different teachers were profiled and the question was asked, ‘What’s wrong with these pictures?’ Although all three teachers, and the schools in which they work, share the same wish to provide the best education possible for their pupils, research evidence suggests that this may not be what is actually happening; that at least one of the schools may be limiting pupils’ real development by creating a culture of compliance.
