ABSTRACT

Imagine you are meeting a new group of people for the very first time and, as an icebreaker, you are asked to introduce yourself. What would you say or rather not say about yourself and where might you begin? Whilst it goes without saying that much of what you choose to share about yourself with others will depend upon the nature of the group and the underlying reasons why the group has been formed in the first place, use the following headings to guide your thinking and write a brief biography to introduce yourself:

• Family background – origins and composition. • Community – where you grew up and social groups you once and still belong to. • Education – all formal learning experiences since pre-or primary school. • Religious affiliations. • Personal – (i) interests, (ii) likes and dislikes, (iii) strengths and weaknesses, (iv)

goals and aspirations.
