ABSTRACT

A team is the basic unit for solving problems and generating learning in action learning. The team selection and management impact success in action learning. Action learning practitioners should try to effectively select teams at the program level while learning coaches should do their best to effectively manage teams at the team level. In this chapter, we will explain the purpose of team selection and discuss key success factors of action learning from a practitioner perspective. We will also discuss methods that learning coaches should employ in the action learning process. Our discussion of commonalities and differences in the types of projects (individual-projects and team-projects) can be used for future action learning in organizations.
