ABSTRACT

Sometimes I really feel guilty for being in college. I know that it’s hard out here for my folks [i.e., parents] and I sort of just left them to come to college. It has a purpose-I know it does-but sometimes it’s hard to remember that when you’re looking at all these people who have so many different lives from yours. Their moms and dads are calling to wake them up for class and to send money every weekend so they can party [laughing]. My folks call to tell me how much they need me [emphasis added] to send them and that I should be there helping out on the weekends. I just keep telling myself that it’ll pay off, you know . . . because it does, I guess.
