ABSTRACT

Creative play and learning through nature can occur indoors as well as outdoors, but this requires bringing elements of nature inside. There are many ways to do this. Natural materials can be added to the physical environment. Nature can be used as a central theme for planned activities, and nature-related posters, books, and manipulatives (puzzles, toy figurines, etc.) can be used to draw attention to the world of nature. Nature can, in fact, be used as an integrating context for all classroom displays, activities and experiences. This involves using nature-related themes and concepts in all areas of teaching and learning.
