ABSTRACT

Bullying, in all its forms, is perhaps the most malicious and malevolent form of anti-social behaviour practised in our schools. Bullying takes many forms. It can be physical. It can be mental. These days much of the most insidious forms of bullying take place on the internet or through specialist websites. This is now called cyber bullying. One reason for the latest concern about cyber bullying is that contact is sometimes unsolicited and can be sent to numerous contacts at the same time, often without redress. For pupils in school, totally private or false information can be sent to classmates, school peers or people in the local community. Many people tend to believe these false assertions and it is often difficult for victims to shake off the resulting false beliefs, so that they affect the lives of victims indefinitely.
