ABSTRACT
The physical landscape displays numerous functions, but three in particular operate systemically at the landscape scale, and have been the focus of reconnection programmes – air (particularly urban airspace), water (particularly floodplain management) and land (especially vegetation and habitats). This chapter explores the problems of disconnection and the potentials for reconnection both within and between these physical systems.
