ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the importance of stopping to think about the reactions of pupils to the experiences they have in school. In essence, Step 2 of the framework involves looking closely at data gathered during the first step in order to generate information that can be used to stimulate further discussion. Ideas of how to make sense of the data gathered, as well as how to analyse and interpret them, are discussed. In addition, consideration is given to how this analysis can be used as part of ongoing school development processes, to benefit both students and practitioners who work in very busy contexts. The importance of involving colleagues and others as critical friends in this process is also discussed.
