ABSTRACT

In this chapter a range of practical approaches for identifying issues related to marginalisation are described. Ethical considerations related to the use of these approaches with children and young people about such sensitive issues are also discussed. The emphasis throughout is on finding ways of engaging with children’s and young people’s voices, and different methods and techniques that can be used in order to bring to the surface views of pupils are presented. In addition, illustrative examples of the use of these techniques are provided.
