ABSTRACT
Translation studies is the now established academic discipline related to the study of the theory and phenomena of translation. This book brings together and clearly summarizes the major strands of translation studies, in order to help readers acquire an understanding of the discipline and the necessary background and tools to begin to carry out their own research on translation. It also presents and discusses theoretical frameworks into which professional translators and trainee translators can place their own practical experience.
