ABSTRACT

The children find that the postman, normally a happy, easygoing person, is very sad. He is embarrassed to explain that he is frightened of a dog in the front garden of a house on his round. Ms Woof, who is new in the village, does not understand why anyone could be fright ened of her dog and has to be convinced that there is a problem. The children negotiate a resolution. But all this takes time, and now the postman is afraid that he won’t get all the letters delivered on time. The children learn about the addresses and help him by delivering the letters themselves through the horizontal and vertical letterboxes.
