ABSTRACT

Be careful to give accurate information but also be creative by adding extra details that would not affect the story. If the children begin to make links with the Rainbow Fish story, try to avoid this by saying that you have heard of a fish called Rainbow Fish but you have never met him. You hear he is very beautiful. The children may try to introduce other well-known fish to this story, e.g. Nemo. This is fine. Perhaps tell them that you have heard about Nemo, but he doesn’t live around here. Tell the children about the sea creatures who are your friends e.g. octopus, squid, angel fish, crab, lobster. It is useful to have some pictures prepared, which you can show to the children, or have some prepared to display on the screen:
