ABSTRACT
The systematic investigation of environmental variables (i.e., ecological, geological, climatic, and other site conditions and patterns) yields crucial data. Together with social factors (i.e., client and user needs and preferences), a full and project-specific set of challenges and opportunities emerges. Discovering as much raw data as possible at the outset of a project will provide a solid foundation for designing or “processing.”
