ABSTRACT

With the economic trends and prospects of totalitarianist collectivism (that is, to put it simply, extreme collectivism) still fresh in mind, it is not to the turbulent 1970s, nor specifically to the oil price explosions, that I want to draw readers' attention. Much more important for the trends and prospects of the West, in my view, are the issues related to the impact of post-war trends upon the efficiency of the capitalist private enterprise-based market system.
