ABSTRACT

The previous chapter presented nonparametric tests for comparing two groups. One important point made was that there are two forms of each test: one for small samples using an exact table or test and one for large samples using an asymptotic approximation. This point also holds for the tests considered in this chapter. We consider the situations of comparing (a) more than two groups (Kruskal-Wallis test), (b) related groups (sign test or Wilcoxon matched signed-ranks test), or (c) multiple, related groups (Friedman or Page tests).
