ABSTRACT

Chapter 5 provides an insight into the internal structure and operations of the Olympic Arts Festival programme and its links with other programmes and divisions within the Organising Committee for the Olympic Games. Yet, a complete vision of the way the programme is delivered requires a complementary insight into the external management structures or, more specifically, the strategies that are used to engage existing and potential stakeholders of the Olympic project. An analysis of the relationship with Olympic stakeholders based in the host city and nation is relevant because these are key actors with an ability to influence the shape and scope of the Games and indeed, its cultural policy.
