ABSTRACT
Torture is not only illegal and immoral. It is damaging and destructive. Obviously, torture damages victims—hurting people on purpose is the very definition of this practice. But it also damages torturers, and perpetrating institutions, and even in some contexts whole societies. In this final chapter, I offer some facts and insights about the negative effects of torture.
