Sudden capital outflow, emerging economies, and credit lines

The focus of the analysis in this book has so far been on a closed economy (though we have touched on an international economy here and there). In this chapter, ¹ we will focus on an open economy. In particular, we will deal with the problem of sudden outflows of funds from emerging economies to developed economies.
