ABSTRACT
As she approaches a coffee shop, Johanna’s mobile phone vibrates in her pocket. She thinks: “Why is somebody texting me here? Don’t they know I’m out of the country?” She is surprised when she sees that the text message is from someone called “Rick’s Tap and Grill,” which is the bar right across the street from the coffee shop. Out of curiosity, she clicks on the message. It tells her that if she comes in, she’ll get a free drink. It’s too early for a drink so she isn’t tempted by the offer, but she does think to herself, “How do they possibly know that I’m here?”
