To indicate that someone is doing or did something for the first time, you can use the adverb はじめて “for the first time.”

の時 とき にはじめて1人

“I traveled alone for the first time when I was seventeen.” 僕 ぼく のお母

“I heard my mom used a personal computer for the first time in 1985.”
