ABSTRACT
In Chapter 2, we discussed the importance of becoming a culturally and linguistically responsive educator who facilitates critical, creative pedagogy with emergent bilingual youth. In this chapter we explore family-community-school partnerships as a vital dynamic in culturally and linguistically responsive teaching. Throughout the chapter, we explore ways that artists and teachers have engaged in asset-based, arts-based approaches to collaborating with bilingual families and communities in all their local diversity toward academic knowledge and skill development, as well as community-centered education.
