ABSTRACT
October 1, 1949 opened a new era in the history of China. The establishment of the new China allowed the country to become independent, and the Chinese people have “stood up” ever since. However, it is no exaggeration to say that the Chinese people were initially standing on a disastrous ruin following almost half a century of wars. So, how did the Communist Party of China (CPC) lead the Chinese people to build their own homes on their war-torn ruin? What was their development strategy? How do you appraise such a development strategy?
