ABSTRACT
Some people want only to say that Miller is dated, but with what is now happening they are merely outdating themselves. The figure in Miller's writing was as clear, as simple and as absolute as one of the Lowry figures we saw the old man tracing, past his guarded, dry talk: the finger on the paper, a few deliberate strokes, a feeling and a history.
