ABSTRACT

The responsibility and the initiative for creatively organising rehearsals using active analysis, rests, naturally, with the director. And, for that reason, the director must master the methodology of the rehearsal process. The ability to tell the grain of truth from the germ of a lie in the actor’s work, to correct it in good time, to bring together the discoveries made by individual actors towards the common task: these are, among many others, the director’s functions. Expressing the ideas of the play within each character, creating ‘living beings’ onstage, benefiting from the experience of the greatest masters of the theatre, doing our work with the sense of responsibility, which alone will lead us to positive results – these are our common tasks.
