ABSTRACT

Far too often, clients and designers wait until the detailed design for the project in question is more or less finished and the process of obtaining all the necessary approvals from the relevant statutory bodies has been completed before giving any detailed consideration about the impact that the project may have upon the owners/users of any adjoining land/property. ‘What’s it got to do with them?’ one may ask. ‘Surely, once all the statutory approvals are in place what influence can the neighbours possibly have on the project?’
