ABSTRACT
Mike’s junior and infant school has Church of England aided status. The church controls staff appointments, with the local vicar being chairman of the governors. An entry in that intriguing biography of any school, the log book, records the visit in 1890 of the vicar’s wife, appropriately named Mrs Crucifix.
