A case study: student teacher-socialization This chapter is a chronological description of the process of becoming a teacher. It is a view obtained by participating in the activities of students both in the university and the schools in which they did their teaching practice. It is idiosyncratic. I have allowed the patterning of the chronology to develop out of my experiences. I have, however, tested it wherever I could against other data that was part of the research, but was independent of the participant observation study, for example from questionnaires.
