ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the many pieces of the hypnotic puzzle that have been laid out chapter by chapter come together to form a full and revealing picture. Here I provide transcripts of clinical hypnosis sessions that illustrate how such sessions might be structured. Before going to the transcripts, though, there are two topics I want to briefly reemphasize for their importance in structuring interventions. The first concerns whether to focus on the content or process (structure) of a problem, and the second concerns the use of metaphor in the intervention.
