ABSTRACT

Educational policy in England and Wales, through successive versions of the National Curriculum, has encouraged the use of different kinds of technologies across all subject areas. This chapter focuses on how the use of different information technologies should be integrated into the process of learning history in order to further enrich the experience. The first extract in this chapter deals explicitly with how to plan for the integration of technology use and progression in history; the second focuses more precisely on the use of databases; and the third explores the use of online web-debates to further students’ understanding of historiography.
