ABSTRACT
In Chapter 2, 24 New Politics Parties (NPPs) were identified from the CMP data and placed according to the typology presented in Figure 2.1. Three distinctive sub-types emerged among the NPPs: 13 Purist Greens, six Libertarians, and five Left Socialists, as well as one sub-type of Green parties: two Conservative Greens. 1 Similarly, 24 Extreme Right Parties (ERPs) were identified from the CMP data as well as the extant literature in Chapter 3 and placed according to the typology presented in Figure 3.2. There, we found five distinctive sub-types among the ERPs – nine Racist Authoritarians, six Populist Reform Parties, four New Radical Rights, two Ethno-Regionalist Parties, and three Neo-Fascist Parties. 2
