ABSTRACT

This is a method of obtaining more experienced feedback on course members’ counselling skills, used with a projected role play. The tutor is the role-player and a number of trainees, sitting around the tutor in a horseshoe formation, practise their skills and receive feedback from the tutor playing the role. Where the group is large or is relatively inexperienced, it is extremely useful to work with two tutors. In this case, feedback can be given from both ‘inside’ and ‘outside’ the role.
