ABSTRACT
Social constructionism involves challenging most of our commonsense knowledge of ourselves and the world we live in. This means that it does not just offer a new analysis of topics such as ‘personality’ or ‘attitudes’ which can simply be slotted into our existing framework of understanding. The framework itself has to change, and with it our understanding of every aspect of social and psychological life.
