ABSTRACT
For that day will not arrive, unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of perdition, [4] who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, declaring himself to be God. [5] Do you not remember that I told you these things when I was still with you? [6] And now you know what restrains him, so that he will be revealed at his own time. [7] For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work, only until the one who restrains now will have disappeared. [8] And then the lawless one will be revealed, he whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the manifestation of his coming, [9] the one whose coming takes place by virtue of the work of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders [10] and with all sinful deceit, for those who perish, because they did not accept the love of the truth so as to be saved. [11] And therefore God sends them a power that works delusion, so that they believe what is false, [12] in order that all may be judged who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in sinfulness.
