Case study In February 1997 Dorset County Council became the first LEA to sign up for a PFI scheme. A consortium of nine private companies won the contract to build and maintain a brand new comprehensive secondary school in Bridport. It will also run certain services such as catering, grounds maintenance and cleaning, over a period of thirty years.
