The huì which we saw earlier in Lesson 2 means ‘to be able to’ or ‘can’. Another meaning of huì is to express one’s willingness to do something or to predict that something is likely to happen. When huì means ‘will’, de follows it in short replies or occurs at the end of affirmative sentences. For example:
