ABSTRACT

The Science National Curriculum for England was revised in 2006 for Key Stage 4 [14-16 year olds] and in 2008 for Key Stage 3 [11-14 year olds]. The implementation of these changes was 2007 and 2009 respectively. One of the key changes in both curriculum documents was a move from content to process. Within the move towards a greater emphasis on scientific process the notion of How Science Works was given top billing by the then Department for Education and Science (DfES, 2006).
