Theory and practice

This chapter looks at the Danish early years pedagogical practice of using the outdoors that has been influenced and supported by a number of theories and theorists from around the world. The theories have led to the following seven pedagogical principles of practice:

1 A holistic approach to children’s learning and development. 2 Each child is unique and competent.
