ABSTRACT
Throughout the book we have explored the wider influences that affect each of the
partners and shape the parent-professional’s relationship. The professional generally
belongs to a team or department or institution which have considerable bearing on what
they can do with a family. Even when individual members are trying to work more
closely with parents and families, their practical options may be limited by wider
organisational issues.
