ABSTRACT

Did Adolf Hitler have a revolutionary personality; was he afflicted by an Oedipal complex or some other mental disturbance which predisposed him to radical behaviour? The answer calls for an investigation into often mundane aspects of Hitler’s life in the hope of finding interesting perspectives on his political and military actions. Identifying a general style of thinking may help an understanding of how Hitler reached more important decisions; analysing health problems may contribute to an interpretation of important policy initiatives; his childhood experiences may have been related to later conduct. So who exactly was the dictator of Germany (Zoller, 1949, p. 9)?
