Did Adolf Hitler have a revolutionary vision for Germany? For that matter, did he have any sort of clear programme for his country? Very many studies indeed argue that he had no body of thinking so well developed and coherent as to merit the name ‘ideology’. They leave the impression that analysing the man’s ideas-world is a waste of time. This line was represented by commentators even before Hitler came to power. J.K.
