ABSTRACT

School plays an important part in socialising children. During the primary school years children are developing and learning socially and emotionally. At five children find it difficult to see from another person’s point of view. This may make it difficult to share things with others or to understand what their behaviour means from other children’s viewpoints. Gradually as they grow through the school they become more able to see other points of view. They become able to share of their own accord and become genuinely able to work with others and the school needs to set out to foster these skills.
