Where referral takes place immediately or soon after the homicide, we administer a semistructured interview specifically related to these events and based on Pynoos.180
This should take precedence over the wider assessment (see Part II), particularly where the child has been or may have been a witness to the homicide. It is a matter of clinical and forensic judgement as to whether children should be interviewed separately or together if involved in the same tragedy.
