ABSTRACT
Brain recognize males and females to a high degree, it also recognizes and orients strongly to mothers. An aspect of mother symbolism is the association with death and rebirth. Throughout the world the mother is used as a symbol of life and the world, but also as death, which appears to always be equated with regeneration and rebirth. Thus the mysterious idea of death is symbolized as a “return to the great mother” in many cultures. The large number of mythological expressions that have an earth mother goddess is in itself fascinating; apparently the propensity to conceive of the physical world and its mysterious origins as somehow embodying or related to a great mother is universally evident. The world is definitely “like” a mother in many ineffable metaphoric ways. When consciousness was hindered by her disease, it seemed the mother goddess was a natural intuition.
