ABSTRACT

Classrooms are interesting places. Often the walls have displays of work and other visually stimulating materials on them. This can be a distraction for some activities. Keeping students’ attention can be daunting when there is so much to look at in addition to what you are inviting them to concentrate on. For some activities, such as drama and storytelling, a much more neutral space is required. Here are three ways to ‘clean’ the space, clear the clutter from lines of sight and eliminate the possible distractions that are on the walls and a fourth simple way to identify the working space within a classroom.
