AUSTRIA The best starting point for the history of the socialist parties is the VGA (Verein für Geschichte der Arbeiterbewegung). This houses not only the early records of the SPÖ (to 1934) but extensive post-1945 material. The Ludwig Boltzmann Institute is reported to have the archives of ‘Neues Osterreich’.
