ABSTRACT
I hope that you will forgive another anecdote! Many years ago I was invited to apply for a post as a Local Educational Authority advisory teacher for history. I was unsuccessful. I was told that I was ‘by far the best candidate but that secondary colleagues would not take advice from a primary school teacher’. Fair enough. However I was offered a parttime post to develop primary secondary liaison in history.
